Iconic Fashion Trends of Bollywood

Fashion and movies go hand in hand. Fashion styles change when a new movie releases. But there are some styles that never fade away. Here are some Bollywood movies known for setting fashion trends.

Mumtaz Saree in Brahmachari

The 1968 movie was a blockbuster for not one reason but more. One of the reasons is the sari Mumtaz wore in the song  “Aaj Kal tere mere naam ke charche har zubaan par”. The sari is known till date after her name ‘Mumtaz Sari’. Girls in many parts of the country still adore Mumtaz’s sari wrapping style.

Dimple Kapadia In Bobby

Wearing a tie-up polka dot tee and a high-waisted black skirt was a rage. Every girl’s dream outfit. Dimple Kapadia broke all the norms of the girls next door by flaunting a sexy avatar.

Sridevi in Mr. India

Everyone who has seen Mr. India remembers the iconic song “Kante Nahi Kat te”. That song is in our memories for not only the dazzling chemistry of Anil Kapoor and Sridevi, but also the amazingly sexy blue chiffon sari that she wore. She made a very sexy statement with a mere sari.

Madhuri Dixit in Hum Apke Hai Kaun!

The super dancer and Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit’s flamboyant picks have always made an impression, but nothing till now could beat the popularity of her Didi tera devar diwana outift though.

The diva dazzled in a purple satin sari with a backless blouse in the song which later became a rage in wedding circles and also remains etched in our memories as a reminder of her evergreen appeal.

Urmila Matondkar In Rangeela

Released in 1995, Urmila Matondkar looked spectacular and sexy throughout the movie. But the way she swayed herself in the song Tanha Tanhs is still unmatchable.  Her white bustier with the matching frilly skirt is still one of the most iconic pieces in Indian cinema.

Kareena Kapoor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham

Though she looked spectacular in the entire film, but the sharara she wore in Bole Chudiya is worth a buy. The super stylish criss-cross blouse along with sharara pants in light shade along with intricate embroidery is the eye-catching factor. Many girls love to get the outfit made during the wedding seasons.

Deepika Padukone in Bajirao Mastani

The anarkali dress that Deepika wore in the song Aayat is worth an applause. The dark colour, the intricate floral work and the heavy jhumkas along with the huge nose ring complemented the entire song. Though Sanjay Leela Bansali is known for awe-inspiring sets, but this costume stole the hearts of many.
