Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata

What is Mahabharata about? A family fighting with each other because of a women? A family fighting with each other for the throne? Why did the Pandavas always suffer and the Kauravas had a splendid life in the castle?

Devdutt Pattnaik’s Jaya: A Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata has illustrated the possible reasons of why a war happened.

The story started of with clearing who actually wrote the Mahabharata. Well it was spoken by Ved Vyasa and written by Lord Ganesha. The only condition Lord Ganesha had put forward was that Ved Vyasa should not stop in between. Ved Vyasa agreed and started to narrate the epic story.

With the subsequent chapters it unveils what are the deepest secrets of each character. The epic is based on Adharma and Dharma. Lord Krishna stated that as long as you do Adharma you will be reborn and will be punished until you achieve Dharma.

The Book is easy to read but yes it is difficult to understand the epic story.
